About

I was brought up in rural Derbyshire and developed a love of craft at an early age. Both of my grandmothers were skilled needlewomen and adept at what today would be called ‘upcycling’. Life, however, took a very different course. I trained as a scientist and after my Ph.D. at the University of Nottingham, I worked in universities and research institutes in Mexico, The Gambia and Aberystwyth, where I eventually settled.
My interest in textiles continued, but once I had discovered marbling, I quickly became hooked. In 1993, when my daughter was born, I decided to take a career break.  This is when I decided to turn a hobby into a business and Jude Riley Marbling was born. Almost twenty two years later, the business has grown and changed and the range of products I produce has gradually evolved.
My current range includes cards, coasters, scarves, wall pieces and paper jewellery.
